Our Completed Projects
Kalutara Vidyalaya, with the support of its Old Boys' Association (KVOBA), has undertaken several significant projects to enhance the school's infrastructure and educational environment. Here are some notable completed initiatives:
Website & Social Media Project
The official website of Kalutara Vidyalaya and the official website of the Kalutara Vidyalaya Old Boys Association, created by the Vice President N.V.H. Nuwan Aravinda on the concept of the President of the Kalutara Vidyalaya Old Boys Association, Mr. Mahesh R. Silva, were launched with a new look by the current Principal of Kalutara Vidyalaya, Mr. G.W.C. Pradeep Leelarathna, at the auspicious moment of 10:00 am on 16.05.2025. We would like to thank the teachers including the Principal who participated in this event, the President and all the officers of the Old Boys Association, the members of the school media unit, and all the members of the Old Boys Association media unit and all those who supported this success.
Car Wash Project
The "Car Wash" project organized by the Kalutara Vidyalaya Old Boys Association was held very successfully on 27th April 2025. We would like to thank everyone who supported this.
New net for the side wicket
May Kalutara Vidyalaya be blessed and prosperous. With the full intervention and support of former Honorary Chairman Wasantha Ariyawickrama, the side wicket of the school received a new cover and protection.
Primary Section Landscaping
One of the successful projects launched by the Kalutara Vidyalaya Old Boys Association the beautification of the school grounds, was handed over to the students on 15th January 2023.
Preparing The Water Supply
The school water supply was formally arranged and handed over to the students on 15th January 2023. The Association thanks all of you, the alumni, who contributed to this.
Landscaping The School
One of the successful projects launched by the Kalutara Vidyalaya Old Boys Association the beautification of the school grounds, was handed over to the students on 15th January 2023.
Carpeting The Road
The carpeting of the main road of the school was started as part of the 80th anniversary celebration program of the school under the leadership of the Old Boys Association.
We express our heartfelt gratitude to the current Chairman of the Kalutara Regional Assembly Mr. Sanjeewa Ariyaratne, Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena, Mrs. Gayani and the Kalutara Engineering Office, Mrs. Vajira Netthikumara and the Kalutara Balika Old Girls Association, the management of Kalutara Vidyalaya including the Principal Mr. Harshana Peiris, and the active alumni of the school.
CCTV Camera System
The first project for 2021, 80th anniversary year was successfully accomplished by the KVOBA 2020.
The newly constructed Primary School Access Road including with a CCTV camera system was declared to open today, on the 25th of January 2020 by the honourable principal Mr Harshana Peiris, Chairman of Kalutara Pradeshiya Sabha Mr Sanjeewa Ariyarathne & the president of KVOBA Mr Aruna Piyaratne. Limited number of guests were participated along with the executive members of KVOBA to this joyous occassion adhering to the Covid-19 protocols.
This newly built facility has added a new color to the school premises and we are grateful to everyone who joined hands to share this glorious moment.
Primary Section Road
We are thrilled to announce the commencement of the next project of KVOBA 2020; Construction of the road to primary school gate and installation of a CCTV camera system at the gate.
The initial step for the project was kept yesterday, on the 3rd of December with the presence of few members of the committee, honorable principal and with two construction partners adhering to the covid-19 protocols.
With the prevailing situation around the country we are trying our best to meet our targeted project completion date, which will be in early January 2021.
Thank you everyone for lending hand to the committee of KVOBA 2020 to make the planned projects a reality during this difficult time.

Renovation of Staff Room
As another successful project by the committee of Old Boys Association of Kalutara Vidyalaya 2020, the school staffroom, which also comprise with a staff development centre has been renovated and handed over to all our beloved staff members today, on the 29th September 2020.
The maintenance of the building and supply of ingredients for staff refreshments will be under the supervision of the KVOBA.
We are truly indebt for all the hard work our teachers are doing to make our students, citizens with good values making our alma mater proud.
Renovated Building
Kalutara Vidyalaya Old Boys Association completed the OBA building renovation project under the inspection of the OBA committee. The work includes a complete renovation of inside and outside of the OBA Building , repairing the walls floor painting, smothering them with filler and color washing with emulsion paint and applying a coat of weather shield outside the building.
The newly renovated two story building of Old Boys Association of Kalutara Vidyalaya was declared to reopen on the 05th of July 2020 with the presence of the present committee members.
The building which comprises an office and an auditorium was initially opened in January 2010 where, as a collective effort of the present committee members it refurbished after a decade adding a new colour to the school premises.
